Q: I was wondering what herbicides used on a daily basis would alter in a negative way, earthworm burrowing behaviour. I am doing a project for school, and I am not sure which herbicide to use that I can have access to that will cause a decrease in burrowing behaviour. Any suggestions?
A: I'm sure that the herbicides used on lawns are not good for worms but am not sure just how much they would affect worm behavior. In fact, I wonder if anyone has looked at the effects of different herbicides on worms! Maybe your experiment would be most informative if you answered your own question to me by trying different kinds of herbicides at different concentrations to see the effects. I think answering your question here could be quite revealing. Good Luck!
