What kind of frog lives in our yard?

Q: Can I send a photo?

The frog ism dark brown with blank bands. His head is green from the lips to just under his eyes, and and radiating down the middle of his back.

A: It's a wee bit hard to see but it looks very much like a young Bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana) to me. The only other frog it might be confused with is the Green Frog but this species has a ridge (or fold of skin) that runs from its "ear" along it back near the back leg - Bullfrogs do not have this ridge along the back. I don't see the ridge in your photo.

You might want to check out some photos on the web to help differentiate between these two species. Hope this helps and thanks for asking and sending the photo.
