Q: Do White Breasted Nuthatches use cavities in trees during the winter?

State: Ontario

A: Sorry for the delay in answering your question Jim - our server has been acting up and we didn't get your question right away.

Yes, WB Nuthatches do use cavities during the winter months. Black-capped Chickadees do too. Once again points out the importance of having trees around with cavities for both nesting and the winter months for a variety of animals.

Thanks for asking.
