looks like a crayfish with wings!

Q: I believe this insect is a pollinator (by the way it flits around the flowers in my garden). It really does have the same shape as a crayfish making it look like a crayfish with wings. Any idea what it might be? Thank you.

A: I'm not sure I know of an insect that looks like a crayfish but your description did make me think of one moth that might be appropriate. The Clearwing Moth does look a wee bit like a crayfish so maybe this is what you've seen. Take a look at this website and see if it resembles what you've had in your garden. Check out www.cirrusimage.com

Hope this helps.
