Q: I found a baby ringneck. So I wanted to keep it.What dose it eat.I live in North Tennessee
A: Ringneck Snakes are beautiful snakes but a young one may be hard to provide food for. I'd feed it small worms and try to keep an eye on it so you know that it is actually eating. If it looks as though it is getting thinner, I'd release it so it won't die. Be sure to have some water with it and some places for it to hide (pieces of bark and/or dead leaves). Although snakes can swallow food that is quite large in comparison to their heads, there are limits so be sure to provide food that isn't too big. Good luck!
