frogs and continents

Q: Do frogs live on every continent of the world? because i have a book called Pets In A Jar that says they do.

Habitat: forest/open woods

State: New York

Habitat: forest/open woods

A: When we see something in print, we usually assume that the information is accurate but this is not always the case. It's always good to question information if you're not sure and in this case, you're right to be suspicious. Frogs live on all of the world's continents EXCEPT Antarctica - no frogs living in that continent. Whoever wrote "Pets in a Jar" may have forgotten that although Antarctica looks like an island, it is indeed considered a continent.

Thanks for writing.
