Q: while looking in my pond today i found asnake like creature about ten inches long and a little thicker than a thread.at first i thought it was a root but when i touched it then it wiggled like a snake. this is a small hobby pond in a memphis , tennessee suburb.

A: You've found an animal that is often called a "hair snake". It isn't a snake at all, as you've already figured out, but a round worm.
