Hang On Baby

Q: Could you tell me how long the juvenile crayfish are attached to their mothers tail after hatching. It has been about two weeks but there are still some eggs there. Things are very transparent and hard to see.
Thanks for your reply
Mary
A: Once the babies hatch, they'll molt about 2 times before leaving their mother. The babies will be about 2 to 7 days old before their first molt, then another 4 to 12 days before their second. At this point, the babies will begin to leave their mother, although it won't happen all at once with all. Transparent eggs indicate that they will soon hatch so these should be hatching any day now. Good luck.
