skink lizards

Q: I have Skinks living under my tomato plants, how can I get rid of them? I don't want to hurt or kill them, I just want them to go away.

State: Missouri

Habitat: suburban/yard

A: Skinks are harmless lizards that eat lots of creep crawlies so they can be a real asset in your garden. These animals won't damage your tomato plants, and since they may eat some of the insects that damage tomatoes, I'd just leave them alone. I realize they may be a bit scary if they dart about when you're working in the garden but you have nothing to fear. Hope this helps a wee bit.
