Q: What kind of snake is black and has white stripes down it's back and side?

Habitat: forest/open woods

State: Georgia

Habitat: forest/open woods

A: It was probably an Eastern Garter Snake or an Eastern Ribbon Snake. Both of these animals have three pale lengthwise stripes on a dark background. Both are harmless.
