Being a naturalist

Posted by sophie briggs on August 16, 2006

Q: Hi,

this Friday I have a report on being a naturalist because that is what i would like to be.

Do you know some of the questions here if so please reply.

How long do you have to train at uni?

What are your wages like?

Is there an age or medical health limit?

How much availability is there (out of 10)?

What are the qualifications (test scores exams go to uni)?

What are some good and some negative points

A: A common type of naturalist is an Interpretive Naturalist. They work at nature centers, parks, museums and other places where there is natural history education going on. Naturalists typically have a B.S. degree, but a M.S. is becomming more common. Not knowing what state you're in it's hard to answer your compensation questions. I suggest you contact your closest nature center or state park. Good luck to you!
