what kind of frog is this?

Q: I live in NE PA and found a very tiny ORANGE frog (in my kitchen!) Looks Like a tree frog b/c it has 4 long toe pads and is only about 1/2 inch to 1" long. I do have a picture. I am very interested to know what kind of frog this is.

A: The Gray Tree Frog and the Northern Spring Peeper are only species of frog with prominent toe pads in Pennsylvania. The photo you sent appears to be of a Northern Spring Peeper. Peepers vary in color from almost black to fairly bright orange, but almost always have a fairly distinct "x" on the back.
