Q: I have found Velvet Ants and now i'm fascinated by them. How many kinds are ther in Delaware where I live?

A: I am not really sure what the answer is to this question. Over 150 species of velvet ants occur throughout the United States from the desert to to mountain tops. You may want to contact the Delaware museum of natural history in Wilmington and see if they have an entomologist or a curator of invertebrate zoology who can help you.
