Q: how can you tell the differance between an adult male and female skunk at first glance from a distance?

Habitat: forest/open woods

State: Missouri

Habitat: forest/open woods

A: You can't. Although the Eastern Spotted Skunk and the Striped Skunk have variations in their coat (more or less white and black) there are no sexual differences that you can see from afar. Of course, if you see babies trailing a skunk, you know it's a female but other than that, there is no way to tell.
