Identify this egg

Q: Hello! I hung hung a small birdhouse on my porch. A small chirpy bird made her nest in it (I thought it was a nuthatch). My husband found a small PINK egg in the bushes under the birdhouse. What kind a small bird (with no colorful markings) lays pink eggs? Thank you!
A: You have very good observation skills. From the description you provided, I'm willing to guess that the bird is a House Wren. The House Wren is a very common cavity nester and certainly has earned the description of "chirpy." Their sometimes incessant singing could be translated as. . . Hey! Look at me! I love to sing!
The House Wren is Brown and nondescript except for its bill that is slightly down-curved and its tail that is often jutting up in a perky pose.
The eggs of the House Wren are white, but they're thickly speckled with reddish or cinnamon-brown dots.
