Opossums

Q: How can I safely keep Opossums away from my yard? I have two bulldogs and I want to avoid having them bitten by the oppssum.
Any suiggestions you have would be appreciated.

A: I think it's much more likely that your dogs will bite the Opossum! Opossums are quite timid and I think they'll avoid your dogs if at all possible. Keep your garbage cans etc closed and unavailable for wandering animals and this should help too. Oh, just occurred to me that the Opossum may be attracted to the dog food. If that's the case, you may want to bring in food at night so the Opossum isn't attracted to your yard. Hope this helps.
