A: Thanks so much for the photos. You had a Scarlet Kingsnake ( Lampropeltis triangulum). This is an especially beautiful snake that may remind you of the Coral Snake but it is harmless. Coral Snakes have their red and yellow rings touch, but the kingsnakes don't. Kingsnakes feed on other snakes and are even immune to the bite of poisonous snakes. Hope you'll allow this fellow to remain at your place as it won't hurt any of your family or pets and should add to the beauty of your area. Thanks for asking.
