Q: We had a bird that would sing near our house and then crash into the window. Why would it do that?
A: Emily- This is not uncommon. Often a male bird that is protecting its nesting territory from other birds of it kind sees its reflection in a window. The male doesn't realize that it is seeing itself and reacts as if another male is trying to take over its territory. One way that may stop this is to cover that window so its relection won't be seen. Of course, often the bird finds its reflection in another window but it's worth a try. Good luck.
