Q: what is the average life span of a humming bird

Habitat: field/meadow

State: New York

Habitat: field/meadow

A: Although hummingbirds are very popular and reasonably common in North America, their lifespans are not well known. One study did show that only between 30 and 45% of the Rubythroated Hummingbirds survive each year. There are records of 12 year-old Broad-tailed and Blue-throated Hummingbirds though. Not much info but I hope it helps.
