Q:

Can you identify a salamander we have here in NORWAY, ME. that is black and yellow and about 3or 4 inches long?

I s there a larger creature like this? My friend's cat brought one home!

THANKS!

Donna

A: Your salmander is a Spotted Salamander. These large amphibians live in moist locations under logs, leaves, and beneath the soil. These beautiful animals are harmless but often people think they're poisonous "lizards".
