Pine Parenthood

Q: How do get pine cones to grow-plant them? If so, how deep?

A: One doesn't plant pine cones, you need to plant the seeds that grew in the cone. A pine cone is a bit like an apple - the edible part of the apple is similar to the pine cone that is simply surrounding the seeds that are within. A pine cone has lots of small seeds beneath the scales. You'll need to get the cones while they still have seeds inside (usually in the fall) and then can plant these. Although it is spring (at least it is here in North America) you may still be able to find some pine cones that still have a few seeds inside. Good luck.
