Q: it is the middle of april and how do i know for sure that a mate of house sparrows will be building a nest in my yard or area

Habitat: suburban/yard

State: New Jersey

Habitat: suburban/yard

A: The only way you can know for sure is if you see a pair actually building a nest. If you put up some nest boxes in your yard, your chances of having House Sparrows nest is pretty good. Of course, even with "housing", birds seem to have their own ideas about where they'll nest. Let's hope they choose your area this year but most have already selected their locations so you probably won't get any new House Sparrows if you don't have them now.
