Q: Which pine tree has the most diesease resistent for Kansas

Habitat: suburban/yard

State: Kansas

Habitat: suburban/yard

A: I don't think there are any native pines that naturally grow in Kansas. If there were, you would probably figure these were most disease resistant for your area. Your local nursery should be able to give you some good info on pines that are best suited for your area however. Of course, another way would be to look around your community and when you see someone with nice growing pines in their yard, figure that this is a good species to focus on. A few native species that you might consider for your area inlcude the Red, White, and Ponderosa Pines (these are all native) and the Scots Pine (European Pine). Hope this helps.
