Let It Be

Q: How do I look after pigeons eggs when the parents are dead? How do I then raise them to teach them how to fly so that they can go away?

A: I'm afraid you won't be able to care for the babies IF you are able to hatch the eggs! Pigeons provide a material called pigeons milk (not real milk but a mixture of food and digestive juices from their own stomach) that they feed their young. It's probably best just to allow the eggs to cool. I know this is sad to do but you certainly wouldn't want the babies to starve either. Thanks for writing and let's hope the next time you have pigeons nesting nearby they're able to rear their young.
