Q: AM PLANNING A TRIP TO THE INTERIOR OF ALASKA IN JULY. ARE THERE CHIGGERS IN ALASKA?

A: I had a difficult time finding out much information on chigger distribution but it does appear that they are found in Alaska, at least along the Pacific coast in the warmer areas. Going inland from the coast will probably reduce or eliminate their presence. I think you'll find the mosquitoes more of a problem than the chiggers. Best of luck.
