hollies

Q: I am asking for information on what kinds of holly can be grown in Michigan?

thank you-

Habitat: field/meadow

State: Michigan

Habitat: field/meadow

A: There are some hollies that are able to withstand the cold of at least some areas of Michigan and a local nursery should be able to tell you exactly which ones they are. There are a bunch of holly varieties that have been developed and some of these may be more or less hardy so you'll need to check this out with a nursery since they'll know best what "works" for you. By knowing your "plant hardiness zone", you'll be able to pinpoint which plants are best able to survive your particular area. Plant zones in Michigan range from the coldest in plant zone #3 to the warmest in plant zone #6.

Here is a site that will help you determine your Plant Hardiness Zone for your particular location based on your zip code. www.gardenhere.com

Thanks for asking and I hope this helps.
