Salamanders

Q: How can I discourage Salamanders from entering my porch? From there they can get in the house. I do not want to hurt them. Thank you
State: Florida
A: I'm inclined to think you have lizards rather than salamanders. Do these animals crawl up your walls, scramble up into your plants and zip around your flowerbeds? Salamanders are on the slow side and are active at night on on wet days, not in the hot sun and would be unlikely to get into your porch unless it's flush with the ground.

I'm guessing that you have Anoles, a small lizard that is quite common in Florida. Try googling this lizard and see if it looks like what you have. These guys are totally harmless and are big insect eaters. If you have them around your house (or even inside), they'll do a great job of reducing your insect population. If you still can't stand having them in your house you'll need to sure there are no cracks or crevices where they can get in. Believe it or not, some people actually bring these little guys into their screened-in porches to keep the insect population down. Hope this helps you out.
