Turtle

Q: I am 5 years old, an I'm trying to find out why are the turtles movein so fast for a pre-school class. I guess it is because of the heavy shell and the short legs, but I'm not quite sure. Can you help me? Thank you.

State: Quebec

A: Good spotting Cedrik. You are right, turtles can be very fast when they need to be. Although turtles have a shell that they can pull into to get away from animals that may want to eat them, they are also able to crawl and swim rather fast too. If you saw a turtle in your school class, it may have be frightened and tried to get away. Of course, a turtle would not know that you are not going to hurt it. Although many people say turtles are really slow, they can be quite fast at times.

Thanks so much for your question and I hope I answered what you wanted to know.
