Q: I live in western Oregon on the main Umpqua River. We found a 2" scorpion in our bathroom this morning. What kind is it?

Habitat: forest/open woods

State: Oregon

Habitat: forest/open woods

A: Finding scoprions in Oregon or Washington always amazes people - most people expect to see them in Arizona! These are the scorpions that I found that live in Oregon/Washington

The Northern Scorpion (Paruroctonus boreus) is one species that is found in Oregon and this one may be the most common. Three others also in Oregon include (Uroctonus mordax, Vaejovis confusus, and Vaejovis hirsuticauda). You can use these scientific names to look up their photos on the web. Hope this helps.
