Q: My grandpa found a young green snake this morning. We live in Harvest, Alabama the northern part of the state. Its all green with a light bellly. The eyes are round

A: Sounds as though your grandfather found a Rough Green Snake. These beautiful snakes don't get very large (22-32") and their green coloration helps them blend in very well with vegetation. Rough Green Snakes feed on a variety of insects and spiders for the most part and are quite harmless. Lucky you that you got to see one. Thanks for sharing.
