Tug of War

Q: what kind of creature is a worm?what organism has no backbone?why do worms live in burrows?what are the bristly hairs on the worms called?

A: There are several different kinds of worms but the earthworms that the poster discusses are members of large group of organisms called annelids (AN-eh-lids) or segmented worms.

Many creatures have no backbone such as worms, snails, insects, spiders, crayfish, and many, many others.

Answering "why" questions in biology is difficult, if not impossible, but worms are well adapted with all that they need for life in burrows.

Take a look again at the poster "Tug of War" and you'll see what the bristles are called.
