Egg ID

Q: We recently found some eggs under the deck and don't know what they are. There are about four "eggs" about 2 inches in diameter each. They are covered with a gelatinous but formed membrane a few centimeters thick. they are pale-purple/pink. Below the membrane appears to be a firm white orb. They were found in soft dirt in Prescott, AZ.

A: sounds like you have some lizard eggs under your deck. They have a leather-like shell that easily dents with pressure. Can't be sure what species may have laid the eggs but if you know what lizards you see around your home, that's a good bet.

Hope you'll leave the eggs where they are so they can hatch. If you keep an eye on the area, you may even see the babies once they hatch.
