Q: what is the average wind speed in the arctic?

A: This is a meteorological (weather related) question that certainly affects the animals and plants that live in the arctic - wind chill comes to mind. To find out the average wind speed, one would have to record the wind speed every day for a year and then put those figures together to come with an average. Of course, that would only be an average for the year one took the measurements! There may be some information on the strongest winds recorded in the arctic, but I doubt there are any averages for your question.
