Q: Why do whales who are in the water all the time shiver?

A: I checked with a marine biologist and found out that whales have never been observed shivering. Whales are especially well adapted to maintain a constant body temperature, even in very cold waters, and so do not use this heat-producing technique that many land-based animals have.
